Sun, May 2, 2004 - 2:56 PMSocial anarchy I expect as we are here to appreciate humanity as a whole. I would say that implies a certain humanist perspective from the outset so maybe consider us perhaps "civilized anarchists". I know, it sounds like an oxymoron to me too. -

Re: Which way did they go?
Thu, May 6, 2004 - 10:05 AMWhew, your turn folks I have been engaged in a serious debate on how people TREAT science as religion.
Defining nature goes directly to the very core of that issue.
The tribe is "Crossroads of Religion"
www.tribe.net/tribe/servl...TribeCard.vm
I suggest you will find a number of threads of discussion that contain elements you can contribute to and/or copy/paste back to here for some quieter discussion.
Defining Nature should be its own thread IMO here as a start perhaps. Along with the separate but relevant "Mans Place in Nature" issue.
And my personal favorite:
Has Human Selection replaced Natural Selection?
As to the last the issue is separate from whether it is right or wrong and that is a subtext of the analysis, but what stage are we at, how has this been happening and what are the consequences?
Along with questions like: is it only Natural that humanity supplants the rest of life on Earth under a Darwinian Selection model?
How is that for a start?
